Letterbolt Privacy Policy
Your game. Your data. Your choices. This policy covers the Letterbolt mobile app and its supporting service.
Last updated 27 September 2026What we collect
- A random device installation identifier, generated on first launch, so progress and leaderboard entries work without an account.
- A stable Apple identifier on iOS or Google identifier on Android if you choose to sign in. We never receive your provider password and do not require your email address.
- A public username if you choose one. It is screened by an automated moderation step, which runs on our own servers, before appearing to other players. Names that are flagged, appealed, or reported are reviewed by a person at Leon Frontier. Other players only ever see an approved username; while a name is blocked they see a temporary name we generate instead.
- If you report a username: the reported name, the reason you give (if any), and your account or installation identifier, so the same report cannot be filed twice. The reported player is never told who reported them.
- If you block a player: a record that your account or installation has blocked theirs, used only to hide them from your leaderboards. The blocked player is not told.
- Moderation records: when we approve, block, or unblock a username we keep the name, the decision, a short note explaining it, and when it was made, so every decision can be checked and reconsidered on appeal.
- Gameplay data including scores, words found, streaks, daily and casual results, and challenges. Ranked results are revalidated on our servers.
- A store transaction identifier if you buy Remove Ads. We verify it to grant the entitlement and never receive your card details.
- An Expo push token if you allow notifications, used for streak reminders, challenge updates, and leaderboard movement alerts.
- Sanitised app events, errors, and request timings used to fix bugs and operate the service. Known sensitive patterns are redacted on-device and again on the server.
- Google Mobile Ads may process IP address, device or app identifiers, ad interactions, app interactions, and SDK diagnostic information for delivery, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention.
Advertising
Free play is supported by Google AdMob. Letterbolt requests non-personalised ads. Where required, Google's consent form is shown before ads are requested, and Profile provides an Ad privacy choices entry point.
Rewarded ads are verified by the server. Buying Remove Ads stops interstitial advertising; optional rewarded ads remain available.
What we do not collect
We do not collect contacts, precise location, photos, or microphone input. AdMob may infer general location from an IP address. Leon Frontier does not build advertising profiles or sell personal data.
Retention and deletion
Signed-in players can delete their account and associated profile, identity, gameplay, challenge, notification, and device data from Profile. Guests can use Delete guest data to remove that installation and its progress.
Reports and blocks you made, reports about your username, and moderation records for your username are deleted along with your account or guest data. Moderation alert emails are kept only as long as needed to handle the report.
Verified purchase records may be retained without account or installation identifiers for transaction integrity, fraud prevention, refunds, and legal or accounting obligations. Diagnostic logs rotate and are kept only as long as operationally necessary.
Children
Letterbolt is a general-audience word game and is not directed at children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data.
