ScanGenAI Privacy Policy
ScanGenAI works on files you choose to send it. This policy covers what those files are used for, how processing happens, and how to remove your account.

The service processes images selected from your camera or gallery, PDF documents, recorded or uploaded audio, the questions you ask, and your account information, in order to perform OCR, document question answering, and transcription.
Camera and library access
Camera access is requested only so you can scan a document or capture an image for text extraction, and nothing is captured unless you take the picture yourself. ScanGenAI does not record video, does not open the camera on its own, and does not use camera access for any purpose other than the scan you start.
Account and diagnostic data
- Account details such as email address, an encrypted password, and profile information for the accounts the app supports.
- Anonymous operational data such as app performance metrics, crash logs, device model, and operating system version, used to improve stability.
How processing works
Uploads are queued and processed by OCR, transcription, embedding, vector search, and language-model services. Generated output is stored alongside the job state so the app can poll for progress and display your results.
Providers and model choices
Depending on the deployment configuration, processing may use cloud or locally hosted model providers together with vector search and background job workers.
The current provider set, the regions processing runs in, and the retention applied to each are listed on request — email hello@leonfrontier.com and we will confirm what applies to your account.
Retention
Uploads sent for processing are retained only as long as the job requires and are then removed. Operational logs are kept for a bounded period for reliability, security, and compliance. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
Security
Encrypted transport, access-controlled server storage, and standard operational safeguards protect the service. No internet service can promise absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Do not upload information you do not have the authority to process. You can delete your account, and the content associated with it, from inside the app at any time.
- Access the data held about you.
- Request correction or deletion.
- Opt out of analytics.
- Withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.
What we do not do
ScanGenAI does not sell your data and does not share your uploads with third parties beyond the processing providers required to produce your result.
Children
ScanGenAI is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed at children under 13.
