The idea
The flag disappears. Its colours give it away.
Every puzzle turns a real flag into a pie of its colours. Read the percentages, search for the flag, and work through three easy, four medium, and three hard challenges shared by every player.
Why it clicks
Every guess has a story.
A fresh daily test of pattern recognition, geography, and nerve.
A new way to see flags
The flag becomes a pie of colour proportions. Percentages sit on the slices, with a named colour legend underneath, so every clue is readable.
A shared daily challenge
Ten flags in a rising three-tier run: three easy, four medium, three hard. Everyone gets the same set, so scores mean something.
Fair answers, even for twin palettes
Different flags can make the same pie. When colours genuinely match, the game accepts those flags too and shows you the other matches.
Hints that earn their place
Each flag starts at three points. Spend one on a clue that narrows the flag list, or one on a layout hint. The optional shape hint unlocks with a rewarded video.
Pick a flag, not a spelling
Search a catalogue of real flag names and tap your answer. No spelling traps, and three guesses give you room to reason it out.

Answers / The Flag Slice
Good questions,
clear answers.
What is The Flag Slice?+
The Flag Slice is a daily flag guessing game for iPhone and Android. Each puzzle shows a pie chart of one flag's colours, with the percentage printed on every slice, and you name the flag it belongs to.
How do you play The Flag Slice?+
Read the pie, search the list of flags, and pick your answer. You get three guesses for each flag and ten flags a day: three easy, four medium, and three hard.
How does scoring work?+
Each flag is worth up to three points, so a perfect day scores 30. A wrong guess costs nothing but a guess. The clue and the layout hint cost one point each, and the price is shown before you take them.
What hints are there?+
There are three. The clue tells you what kind of place the flag belongs to and where, and narrows the list to match, for one point. The layout hint describes how the colours are arranged, for one point. The shape hint is a blurred mosaic of the flag, unlocked by an optional rewarded video at no cost in points.
How is it different from other flag quizzes?+
Most flag quizzes show you the flag and ask for its name. The Flag Slice hides the flag and shows only how much of each colour it contains, so you learn what flags are made of rather than what they look like.
Which flags are in the game?+
More than 2,000 flags: countries, states and provinces, capital cities and other major cities, territories, and international organisations. Each day moves from well-known flags to ones few people have seen.
What if two flags have the same colours?+
Some flags make exactly the same pie. When that happens the game accepts any of them as correct and tells you which others matched once the flag is revealed.
Is there a new puzzle every day?+
Yes. A new set of ten flags arrives at midnight UTC, and it is the same set for every player, so scores are directly comparable.
Can I play without signing in?+
Yes. Guest play works as soon as you open the app. Signing in with Apple on iPhone or Google on Android adds a public username, a place on the leaderboards, and your progress on every device.
How do the leaderboards work?+
There is one daily leaderboard, because everyone plays the same ten flags. Weekly, monthly, and yearly leaderboards add up your daily scores, and the top player of each year is crowned champion. Ties go to the player who used fewer hints.
Is The Flag Slice free?+
Yes. The Flag Slice is free to play and supported by ads. Rewarded videos are always optional. An optional Remove Ads subscription, US$7 a month or US$74 a year, hides the banners and the post-game ad; the store shows your local price.
Does the game avoid controversial flags?+
Yes. The game leaves out flags of disputed territories, flags of private organisations, and flags likely to cause offence. Every flag is screened before it can appear, and a person reviews anything the screening flags.
Where do the flag images come from?+
The flag list comes from Wikidata and the images from Wikimedia Commons. Most are in the public domain; where a licence requires credit, the author and licence are shown with the image in the app.
Which devices support The Flag Slice?+
The Flag Slice is coming to iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets.
When is The Flag Slice available?+
The Flag Slice is in testing now. Store links will appear on this page as soon as the release is live.
